The overall objectives of the Spanish curriculum are as follows: In listening, the children will comprehend basic vocabulary, structures, and expressions essential from everyday communication. In speaking, the children will be able to respond to simple questions, statements and commands using words, phrases, and, in some instances, short sentences. At the beginning, accuracy is not emphasized; children are not forced to answer precisely, but they are encouraged to use the language as much as possible.  Spanish Curriculum is taken from Viva el Espanol, System A, B and C for grades K5-5th. The sixth grade uses Sym talk for their curriculum.
